MINOR REQUIREMENTS FOR CHEMISTRY (2011-2012 CATALOG) Required Chemistry Courses: CH 115 CH 116 CH 117 CH 118 Note: CH 115, 116, 117, and 118 may also satisfy the Core Curriculum Area III; check with your academic advisor. Honors labs (114, 119, 234, and 239) can substitute for the corresponding regular lab listed above. Required Chemistry Course: CH 325 CH 326 CH 345 CH 355 (Choose one.) CH 450 CH 459 CH 460 CH 480 Note: CH 325, 326, 345, 355, 450, and 480 have required laboratories. Total Requirements: 19-20 semester credit hours GPA Requirement: At least a 2.0 average in required chemistry courses and a 2.0 average in required chemistry courses taken at UAB are mandatory for a chemistry minor. The current UAB course forgiveness policy will be used in calculating the grade point average. No transferred grades of D or F in chemistry courses count toward fulfillment of the minor. Residency Requirement: Students must complete at least two courses (with laboratories) in chemistry at UAB from the following: CH 115, 117, 235, 237, 325, 326, 345, 355, 450, 480 and at least one of these courses must be at the 200 level or higher in order to qualify for the minor [in addition to the requirements stated above].
