Philosophy Statement
The faculty of the Clinical Laboratory Sciences Division
encourages and supports continuing professional growth.
Progression from Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to Medical
Technologist (MT) is one method of demonstrating professional
growth in clinical laboratory sciences. The faculty recognizes
that the skills and knowledge possessed by a Medical Technologist
include the competencies of the Medical Laboratory Technician.
Additionally, the faculty recognizes that prerequisite knowledge
and skills may be attained by mechanisms other than the
traditional classroom approach. The CLS Articulation Program was
developed to facilitate the professional progression from MLT to
MT. For most MLT graduates, the articulation program takes 2
years to complete as a full time student.
