Teaching and Technology Initiatives

As part of its commitment to support excellence in teaching through pedagogical best practices and appropriate and effective use of technology, the Center for Teaching & Learning Academic Advisory Council is tasked with identifying education technologies with potential to enhance course design and delivery, teaching practice, and student learning.

Current projects include review of options for clicker use and lecture recording in the classroom, and proctoring solutions to validate student achievement through computer-based testing.

Lecture Recording Options
There are a number of software solutions that offer a range of recording, storage, and delivery options for presentations and lectures. As part of the evaluation process, we are seeking input from faculty and instructors on potential application of options to the UAB learning environment.
Throughout October and the first two weeks of November we will have a Mediasite recorder on-site for examination in the experimental design classroom. The Center will host demonstrations as follows:
Monday, 3 pm
Friday, 10 am

If you can't attend one of these sessions, we will accommodate walk-ins by the curious between 2-5 pm each Monday, and 9 - 12 am each Friday. Please feel free to drop by, kick the tires and provide feedback.
