Dear Dr. Kirklin, 

 

The OSMB for INTERMACS met on August 13, 2010 and made the following general 
recommendations and comments: 

 

1. The Board commended the Investigators for continued great performance and success. 
2. The Board commended investigators on addressing the issues of clarification of the 
definition of hemorrhage and infections. 
3. The Board acknowledged the concept of data collection without the consent if the data are 
entered into INTERMACS using its rigorous quality control measures to produce QC reports 
to the hospitals. 
4. The Board commended investigators on major contributions this study continues to make in 
the area of LV devices clinical performance tracking and outcomes. 
5. The Board strongly endorses planned activities for INTERMACS program renewal. 
6. The Board unanimously voted for the study to continue.
