As part of a national effort to make the application process less time consuming for the applicant, this Pediatric Dentistry Postdoctoral Program is a participant in the PASS (Postdoctoral Application Support Service) central application service sponsored by the American Association of Dental Schools. In order to meet the October 15th application deadline, completed PASS documents should be submitted to the PASS office no later than September 30th of the year preceding the year for which the applicant is applying. There are two types of applications, stipend and non-stipend. Only applicants that are U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident that have graduated from a U.S., ADA accredited dental school are eligible for the stipend position category. Foreign students from non-English speaking foreign countries applying are required to take TOEFL exam as part of their application – unless written exemption from UAB Pediatric Dental Faculty is given. The Pediatric Dentistry Program is also a participant of the National Matching Program sponsored by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and monitored by the Committee on Residency Education and Training. The administration of the matching program, including the performance of the match, is carried out by National Matching Services, as an independent contractor. Individuals who are accepted into a program should plan to be in Birmingham at least two weeks before the initiation date of the program.
