Giving to the School of Optometry

It starts with your gift. One of the top schools of optometry in the nation, the UAB School of Optometry was the first to be designed specifically to be part a university-based academic health sciences complex. That puts us in an ideal position to touch lives every day, educating tomorrow's leaders in eye care and offering the highest quality treatment to patients throughout the community.

Before they even graduate, our students have given thousands of hours of community service in everything from elementary schools to indigent care to serve the community and hone their skills. Our students and faculty see more than 25,000 patients annually in our low-vision, pediatric, contact lens, and primary-care clinics and our community outreach programs.

Traditional revenues such as tuition, fees, federal grants, and state funds provide for daily work, but they often vary with the level of state revenues and enrollments. Gifts from you create a secure, concrete foundation for our future success, helping us to establish more scholarships, perform research, and provide the most up-to-date, sophisticated classroom settings for our students.

The UAB School of Optometry still relies on community support. Your gift to the school will support student needs, classroom renovation, indigent patient care, and important research. Make your donation using our online giving tool.
