Giving to UAB Blazer Athletics

It starts with YOUR gift. Although the goal of any NCAA Division I athletic program is to win on the field, the most important goal should be for student-athletes to have the opportunity to receive a quality education. UAB Athletics incurs approximately $6 million annually in scholarship costs. Blazer Athletics is proud to say that its 350 student-athletes receive an education from a very special institution - all thanks to the generosity of our community donors.

Since 2007, UAB Athletics has seen staggering growth and positive change, particularily when it comes to academics, facilities, and competitive success. However, the athletic program has many more goals to aspire to and must continue on the progress, momentum, and support achieved the last few years.

UAB Blazer Athletics still heavily relies on private support through the community. Your contributions have been the foundation that has allowed UAB Athletics to be a solid contender in Conference USA as well as a viable athletic program to our community that receives national exposure. UAB Athletics has produced well-know individuals such as Olympic gold medalist Vonetta Flowers, Atlanta Falcons member and two-time pro bowler Roddy White, and U.S. Open Champion Graeme McDowell.

Please consider making a gift to the Scholarship Excellence Fund, Blazer Women's Athletic Society, or one of our 16 sports programs. For questions, further information, or to support another athletic initiative, please visit www.BlazerBoosters.com or contact Coleman Barnes Jr., associate athletic director for development, at (205) 996-5813 or This email address is being protected from spambots.
