Comprehensive Cancer Center Young Supporters Host Ball

More than 400 guests enjoyed music, food, and fun at the third annual Fiesta Ball last spring at Innovation Depot. The Mexican-themed event was held by the Young Supporters Board of the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center to raise funds to support a young scientist at the center.

Members of the board, established in 2006, are area professionals in their 20s and 30s committed to raising funds and awareness for the Cancer Center’s research and patient service programs. “The efforts of the Young Supporters Board in planning and executing the Fiesta Ball are amazing,” says Edward Partridge, M.D., director of the Cancer Center. “Proceeds from the ball support a research project of a young investigator who has been on campus for less than a year and is selected each year through a competitive process.”
