Message from the DeanWelcome to the UAB School of Education. We are very pleased to have you visit our website. We are excited about the program offerings that we have available to prepare education, health, and wellness professionals. Please visit the websites of our Department of Curriculum and Instruction and our Department of Human Studies to learn more about these innovative programs. At the UAB School of Education, we specialize in knowledge that will change your world.
We are privileged to have an extremely talented group of faculty and staff who support our dynamic programs. Our faculty members are widely recognized in their fields and have received numerous national and international awards in the areas of research, teaching, and service. These scholars have taken on some of the most vexing challenges in their fields—from childhood obesity to enhancing student achievement in high-poverty schools—and have identified promising practices that have the potential to make an important difference in our world.
Our students also are a critical part of this vibrant learning community. They bring energy and passion for their fields, and an intellectual curiosity that inspires their drive to learn. Like our faculty, our graduates are highly successful in their careers, many having received recognitions and awards, such as State Teacher of the Year. Our students are especially well-positioned to advance in their studies and excel in their careers because they are supported by faculty and staff who are committed to their success, and are provided with intensive opportunities to hone their skills in diverse field settings, and to be a part of the exciting work in which the faculty is engaged.
UAB School of Education faculty, staff, students, and alumni are out in communities making a difference—being the difference—every day. From the local Birmingham area to various points across the globe, members of our School of Education community are realizing our vision—transforming lives to optimize human potential.
We are grateful for the support of our school district and community agency partners, our donors, alumni, and friends who make our work possible. With their continued support, I believe the School of Education is poised for even greater things. We hope you will keep in touch so that we can continue to share the good news. Our Keep In Touch page allows you to update your contact information, share your news, and let us know how you want to be involved.
We appreciate your interest in and support of the UAB School of Education.
