If you plan on using a GPS to direct you to the UAB School of Education, we suggest that you type in the following: 900 14th Street South, Birmingham, Alabama. When the SOE's 13th street address is used, the GPS routinely takes visitors to 13th Street Southwest, which is 12 miles west of campus.

Take the 4th Avenue South Exit.
This is a one way street headed east.
Stay on 4th Avenue South until you come to the 14th Street South intersection.
Take a right onto 14th Street South.
Stay on 14th Street South until you cross University Blvd. (also 8th Ave. South). The School of Education is located on the right side of 14th Street South, between University Blvd and 10th Avenue South.
Take the University Blvd. Exit (Also 8th Avenue South).
As you merge with University Blvd., stay in the right hand or middle lane.
You will see an overhead crosswalk at the intersection of University and 13th Street South.
You may turn right on 13th Street South and the School of Education will be on your left. If you choose to continue on University Blvd to 14th Street South and turn right, the School of Education will be on your right.

About the SOE
All of us here at the UAB School of Education are focused on achieving at the highest levels. This means producing the best classroom teachers, counselors and administrators in the state of Alabama. The number of award winning teachers and principals who are either graduates or certificate holders from our School is impressive.
It means having outstanding teaching faculty, who are oriented towards modern methods of teaching, who use technology as an important tool, and who forge strong, positive relationships with students.
It means doing cutting-edge research in areas from early literacy to the exercise patterns of the elderly.
And it especially means that the friendly, informed service we provide our students, our school system partners, and the general public is state-of-the-art.

Our FacultyThe UAB School of Education is home to a diverse group of faculty members with varied backgrounds in education and administration. In addition to our full-time faculty in our three academic departments, the school also calls on area educators to support instruction as adjunct faculty. Our faculty and staff are dedicated to the development of exemplary educators and administrators.
