Join us Saturday, May 14th for Girls in Science and Engineering Day at UAB!
This is a day devoted to fun science and engineering activities for middle school-aged girls (6th-8th grade) in the Birmingham area. All workshops will be exciting and hands-on to encourage and foster interest and confidence in science and engineering subjects.
Each girl will participate in 3 workshops in a science or engineering field.
Workshops are led by UAB professors, students, and scientists!
Girls in Science and Engineering Day at UAB is free for registered participants.
All participants will receive an event t-shirt, and a pizza lunch will be provided!
Girls will participate in 3 of the following 4 workshops:
* Medicine- Learn about the anatomy and histology of the body
* Neuroscience- The science behind the brain
* Engineering- Learn what real engineers do
* Reptiles – The biology of reptiles such as turtles and frogs

Participants must register by Saturday, April 16th, 2011.
On May 14th, please plan to arrive on UAB’s campus at 8:00 am. Pick-up at 3:30pm.
