Teach Spanish or French

Enroll in the UAB Master of Arts in Education (MAEd) degree program to become a French or Spanish teacher for grades P-12. You will learn methods for teaching foreign languages, how to teach new languages through reading and writing, and other important skills. There are also opportunity to study abroad and participate in other field study experiences that will expand your knowledge of French- or Spanish-speaking cultures.

The UAB Alternative Masters Degree Program is for professionals like you who speak French or Spanish, but lack teacher certification. Once you complete 41-44 credit hours in the program, you will earn an alternative master’s degree in education. Learn more details in the AMP Information Packet.
