You must be admitted to the UAB Teacher Education Program (TEP) in order to become a teacher. The UAB TEP includes undergraduate programs that lead to Class B certification in the following areas:
- Early Childhood/Elementary Education
- Kinesiology (formerly Physical Education)
- Middle School Education
Middle School Mathematics
- Music Education
- Secondary Education
Biology, Chemistry, English Language Arts, General Science, General Social Science, History, Mathematics, Physics
All programs within UAB's Teacher Education Program (TEP) are accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and approved by the Alabama State Board of Education.
Students are allowed only two attempts to apply to a program. The application withdrawal deadline is one week after the application deadline for the Teacher Education Program.
Alternative Master's Program
You must be admitted to the UAB Teacher Education Program (TEP) in order to become a teacher. The UAB Alternative Master’s TEP includes graduate programs that lead to Class A certification in the ares listed below.
