Graduate Application for Degree

The Office of Student Services reviews applications for degree before submitting them to the Graduate School. Please follow the deadlines below (not the deadlines listed on the Graduate School website).

Your graduation will be delayed one full semester if the deadline below is not met.


If you plan to graduate at the end of the: The application is due:
Fall Semester July 1
Spring Semester November 1
Summer Semester April 1

Submission Instructions
  • Applications for Degree must be typed, printed, signed and delivered to the Office of Student Services (Education Building, room 232).
  • *Applications can be hand delivered or mailed to the address listed below:

  • Please do not obtain any faculty signatures. The School of Education will obtain these once you turn in your application to toom 232.
  • To download the application, navigate to the Graduate School website.  Under the ‘Forms Used to Complete Graduate Study’ section, click on “Application for Degree”.

  • All Freshmen Education Majors:
    The message received via your message board does not read, “ you have not signed up for up for an FYE (Freshmen Year Experience Course)”. You are enrolled in what is considered to be an FYE course, if you are enrolled in one of the following: EDU 100, CAS 112, EHS 125, or UNIV 101. Therefore, please disregard the message. These courses meet the FYE requirement. Hope your first few days of college have been exciting!
  • Walk-in advising will take place Wednesday and Thursday from 10-12and 2-4 (August 27/28)—This is for Secondary Education, HE, and KIN majors ONLY.  Early Childhood/Elementary Education students need to schedule an appointment by calling 205-934-7530.
  • Become a Student Health & Wellness Center Peer Educator.  Learn more.
  • Assigned registration time for Spring 2015 will be October 27th - October 31st.  Review your GPS in order to identify course selections prior to meeting with your assigned advisor.
  • HE 222 - Concepts of Health and Fitness is now listed as KIN 222. This course is open to all students and has no prerequisite requirements.
  • UAB Online offering Canvas training sessions for students.  Register for training.
