The UAB School of Health Professions, the Department of Occupational Therapy and UAB eLearning and Professional Studies are working together to offer you a Graduate Certificate in Low Vision Rehabilitation. This program was developed with the working clinician in mind.
The courses are paced to enable you to handle multiple roles as a student, employee, parent, care provider and volunteer. Assignments emphasize practical clinical application and documentation; course content provides the in-depth knowledge needed to practice competently and with confidence.

Graduates of the program have gone to start low vision rehabilitation programs in hospitals and other facilities, partner with ophthalmologists and optometrists to provide services to their patients with low vision, develop private practices in low vision rehabilitation, and teach low vision rehabilitation to students in occupational therapy programs, provide workshops on low vision rehabilitation to practicing clinicians and conduct and publish research on low vision rehabilitation. Many of our graduates have qualified for specialty certification in low vision rehabilitation from the American Occupational Therapy Association and proudly have the SCLV credential behind their names.
