SYSE 500: INTRODUCTION TO ELECTRICAL SAFETY MANAGEMENTThis course will use ANSI Z10, Occupational Safety & Health Managing Systems (aligned with OHSAS 18001 and CSA Z1000) as the framework for benchmarking existing programs and for designing and implementing a state of the art electrical safety management system. It will show how the requirements of NFPA 70E, Standard for Workplace Electrical Safety (harmonized with CSA Z462) and other recognized industry standards can be aligned to achieve a comprehensive program based on proven safety management principles. The participant will be provided the knowledge and tools to develop a business case to help enable management support, assess existing programs, identify improvement opportunities, and develop implementation plans.
This is a four-week, instructor led, totally online course. Activities include direct instructor interface, learning modules, participation in weekly discussions, and learning assessment.
Final grade is based 30% on discussion participation and 70% on assessment (quiz.) A minimum of 70/100 points must be achieved to successfully complete the course and be awarded a Certificate of Completion.
