What to Bring to Open Lab

During the two-week Open Lab event, faculty will receive assistance in setting up a Canvas course. To make the most of your Open Lab time, we encourage you to bring the following with you.

  • Your Course Content (Syllabus, PDF and Word documents, lectures, etc.): You can save content on a USB flash drive or on the UAB Dropbox.
  • Your Devices: Computers will be available for you to use; however, we recommend that you bring your own laptop or a mobile device if you are planning on using them for your course. Since you are already familiar with your devices, it will make it easier for you to apply what you learn during Open Lab.
  • An Old-Fashioned Notepad and Pen or Mobile/Tablet Device: We encourage you to take notes during Open Lab for future reference.
  • Questions: We love questions and expect you to bring a lot of them.

Can't Attend Open Lab?

If you are not able to attend Open Lab, but need assistance, please contact the eLPS office by email at elpstraining@uab.edu or by phone at 205-934-7217, and we will make other arrangements for you.
