NBC Learn Higher Ed, the education division of NBC News, is excited to partner with the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
This webinar session will show participants how to incorporate NBC Learn video and other forms of non-fiction, informational text into their lectures and class material. With over 20,000 multimedia resources spanning 80 years of television, NBC Learn is a vital asset for introducing or emphasizing topics, stimulating critical thinking and debate, and enlivening instructional material. This set of resources will help faculty members contextualize important academic concepts and provide historical perspectives that bring the real world to the classroom and the students to the world. In addition to daily current events, NBC Learn features content tied to over 40 concentrations, including original series such as the "Science of NFL Football," "Chronicles of Courage" and "Human Water Cycle."
Participants will learn to explore this engaging resource and share best practices for integrating video into face-to-face or blended instruction. NBC Learn Higher Ed features robust searching, browsing and filtering tools to aid research and inquiry-based discovery.
