Two closed WebEX training sessions are scheduled for select faculty and staff within each school/college in preparation for supporting faculty, staff, and students in the transition to Canvas:  1) LMS administrators on January 13, and 2) instructional designers plus select faculty on January 27.
 
Please save the dates, February 4-6, from 9am–3pm (CT), for Canvas on-site training which will be open to faculty.  These sessions will be streamed live for remote attendance, which will be archived.  If anyone is unable to attend all or part of these sessions, they can view them at their leisure.  Please watch for location, registration, and training details to be publicized soon.

Save the Date for the 2016 Scholars Institute

The Division of eLearning and Professional Studies and the Center for Teaching and Learning invite you to save Tuesday-Wednesday, May 17-18, 2016, for the 9th Annual Scholars Institute, to be held at The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). This year's theme is "Exploiting Technology for Best Practices in Teaching and Learning”.

CTL February Events

The UAB Center for Teaching and Learning has released their February schedule of training events. The CTL is launching a new speaker's event: "CTL Executive Presenter Series." This month's speaker will be Dr.Bradley Barnes, who will speak about student recruitment. The event will be held on Friday, February 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in CTL 243. Paper Published by eLAC President Named One of Top 5 Most Influential in 2015

The Nursing Informatics-Working Group of the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) recently named a research paper authored by UAB eLearning Advisory Council President Jacqueline Moss, PhD, RN, FAAN, and UAB School of Health Professions Professor Eta S. Berner, Ed.D. as one of the five most influential papers in nursing informatics in 2015.
