For the first time in human history more than half of the world’s population now lives in a metropolitan area. Cities are said to be responsible for 80% of the world’s CO2 output and it is estimated that the urban population is set to double by 2050. Rapid technological developments present unprecedented opportunities for cities to design and adapt into smart, intelligent and sustainable environments through digital technologies, big data, low-energy buildings and neighborhoods, renewable energy and smart mobility.

I started pursuing the construction engineering management program to help me prepare for the construction engineering portion of the engineering license examination. It was important that this program is tailored to working professionals. I am now armed with new construction management skills, a thirst for more knowledge and will continue my education past this degree.
