For the first time in human history more than half of the world’s population now lives in a metropolitan area. Cities are said to be responsible for 80% of the world’s CO2 output and it is estimated that the urban population is set to double by 2050. Rapid technological developments present unprecedented opportunities for cities to design and adapt into smart, intelligent and sustainable environments through digital technologies, big data, low-energy buildings and neighborhoods, renewable energy and smart mobility.

When I asked my supervisor how this program changed me over the past 18 months, she said that I was a better communicator, an innovative thinker, my team leading skills had improved, that I was more efficient and could handle a larger work load, and that I was more confident when making decisions.
