UAB School of Engineering is teaching local high school students about science by launching model test rockets hundreds of feet over campus today. The test launches were part of an annual material science camp at UAB sponsored by the School of Engineering.
The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees named Jay Goldman, D.Sc., Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus in the UAB School of Engineering during its meeting June 14, 2013. Goldman joined UAB in 1984 as dean and professor and was appointed Distinguished Service Professor of Engineering and recognized as dean emeritus in 2001. In 2004 he received the Medallion Award from the Institute of Industrial Engineers for his impact on the industrial engineering profession.
