To assure that students are achieving reasonable academic progress towards graduation, the School of Engineering provides academic advice and planning prior to registration each term a student enrolls usually through a meeting with an assigned engineering advisor. At the time of advising, students receive a registration access code (RAC) which will allow them to register for courses the following semester.
Academic Advisor Assignment:
Pre-Engineering in all disciplines are advised by Dr. Zoe Dwyer in the School of Engineering’s Office of Academic Programs (OAP). Upon admission to Biomedical Engineering students are advised by faculty within the Biomedical Engineering Department.
The Undergraduate Advising Coordinators for undergraduate programs in engineering are as follows:
Pre-Engineering (all disciplines): Dr. Zoe Dwyer
Biomedical Engineering: Dr. Jack Rogers and Dr. Dale Feldman
Students interested in health-related professional school following graduation should contact the appropriate pre-health advisor.
Students need to fill out the Academic Advisement Form, the Code of Conduct and have a copy of their GPS prior to their advising session. The BME Undergraduate Catalog has a list of courses that can be used in conjunction with the Prerequisite Flowchart, the list of course deadlines and the Program of Study are helpful tools to reference when filling out the BME academic advisement form.
