RESEARCH


Develop numerical models for problems with complex physics such as chemical reactions, multi-phase fluid flows, flows through porous media; develop the high-fidelity time accurate Navier-Stokes solver for transient flow simulations such as acoustic waves, combustion instability; develop multi-scale simulation methodology, such as a hybrid DSMC/Navier-Stokes approach, and molecular dynamics/continuum framework; develop CFD models for bio-fluid flow simulations such as cardiovascular blood flows and pulmonary structure/airway interactions; implement chimera grid topology into the CFD flow solver for moving body simulations; develop numerical models for radiation, surface ablation and turbulence transition for re-entry hypersonic aerothermodynamics
