The Arab Academy for Science and Technology and Maritime Transport

The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), located in Alexandria, Egypt, was established as a regional institute for maritime transport in 1970.   Since its establishment, the AASTMT has played a leading role in offering distinguished services by keeping abreast with the rapid global pace in education, training and scientific research.  The AASTMT website, www.aastmt.org provides an overview of programs offered at AASTMT.    

 The UAB School of Engineering and the AASTMT have collaborated on the development of doctoral programs in five engineering disciplines; biomedical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering. materials engineering, and mechanical engineering.  AASTMT will pay tuition costs for students accepted into this program.  Programs in the UAB School of Engineering will provide students with an annual stipend.  For more information on UAB School of Engineering, go to www.uab.edu/engineering.  A program description is provided below:
