Experience

Dr. Ian Hosch is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering with expertise in structural engineering.  He has extensive experimental field testing experience and has performed multiple finite element analysis simulation focusing on a variety of engineering disciplines.  Dr. Hosch has particular experience working with structural dynamics and fatigue analysis of structures, as well as experience working with prestressed and reinforced concrete, and fiber reinforced polymer composites. 

Research Interest

Dr. Hosch’s research interests include mechanics of vibration and structural dynamics, fatigue analysis and mitigation, finite element analysis, development of concrete materials and production involving prestressed concrete and autoclaved aerated concrete, sustainability of building materials and structural systems, structural efficiency of novel space frame systems, and experimental techniques in the evaluation, development, and testing of building materials for structural applications.
