making from pulp and ink music I hear around my building and in the woods not far away —Theodore Haddin
By providing an informal setting for dialogue with students, faculty, and the public, The Haddin Forum further's UAB's mission to discover, disseminate, and apply knowledge, as well as UAB's core value of striving to be both a learning community and a community of learners.
The great gift of the arts, it seems to me, is that in a very special way they enable us to transcend and expand our limits of time, place, class, self. To help people understand and make up their minds about fundamentals, to learn how we signal between our worlds, and to escape the limits of these little worlds and enter other, far and near, often greater--this has got to be valuable. —Frederick W. Conner
haddinMeetings of The Haddin Forum are free and open to the public in a convenient and informal setting at UAB. All who attend are encouraged to participate in discussion. Coffee and light refreshments will be served. Please feel free to bring a lunch.
. . . gardens choose their gardeners, And the beauty that asks nothing Of us here, gives us much: It gives the taste of ultimates that we can bear. —Theodore Haddin
