A native
of Gadsden, Alabama, Dr. Feist received his undergraduate
degree from Birmingham Southern College and his medical degree
from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He completed
a pre-residency research fellowship at the Retinal Research
Foundation of the South and ophthalmology residency at the
University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Feist began his practice
in 1993 after a Vitreoretinal Disease and Surgery Fellowship
at the University of Iowa.
Dr. Feist
serves as preceptor for medical student rotations in the Department
of Ophthalmology. He is Staff Retinal Surgeon at Birmingham
Veterans Medical Center and Staff Retinal Surgeon at Cooper
Green Hospital, Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Feist is certified
by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the
American College of Surgeons.
