Biography

 

Dr. White was born in Laurel, Mississippi. He received his B.S. degree in Biology, cum laude, at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1982. He received his M.D. degree, cum laude, at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1986. He served as a general surgery intern at Yale University. He completed his residency in Ophthalmology at UAB/Eye Foundation Hospital in 1991, and completed a fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases at the University of Michigan/Kellogg Eye Center, Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1992.

Dr. White has been a member of the faculty and the Department of Ophthalmology since 1992. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Special interests include diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular disease, and ocular trauma.
