UAB FACILITIES DIVISION DBE PROGRAM
The Facilities Division of the University of Alabama at Birmingham has established a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (“DBE”) Program. The goal of this program is to make good faith efforts to assist DBEs in gaining equal access and equal opportunities to receive contract and subcontract awards for UAB design and construction projects and to purchase supplies, materials, equipment, and services.
The DBE Program Office offers a wide-range of services to the Facilities Division. Its staff is responsible for development division-wide DBE policies and regulations, DBE Program strategies, DBE Program oversight, and assistance to the Division members DBE Department Liaisons/Directors as well as staff to fulfill their obligations in complying with the DBE Program requirements.
Our History
Mr. Hanoree Allen Jr., a painting contractor, founded Allen Paints in 1994. In 2002, Allen Paints moved into its new facility located at 1141 Pratt Highway, Birmingham, AL. Today Allen Paints employs professional painters and support staff. Allen Paints, has participated in renovations citywide. Some of our projects include the University of Alabama at Birmingham, the United States Postal Service, Birmingham Public Schools, as well as numerous commercial projects and churches throughout the city of Birmingham.

We specialize in commercial painting and light industrial painting Included are vinyl wall covering and knock down coatings installers. Whether in high or difficult to reach areas, Allen Paints consistently produces a quality finished product. Exposed structures, such as ceilings and piping are some of the industrial applications we have completed.
