The UAB Facilities Division is committed to promoting the participation of minority and women-owned businesses through the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (“DBE”) Program for the procurement of construction contracts and/or contracts for materials or services. The procurement process utilized by the UAB Facilities Division seeks to provide equal opportunity and equal access in the design, receipt and award of procurement opportunities managed by each Facilities member.

The UAB Facilities Division will administer its DBE Program under current State of Alabama statutes and administrative codes, UAB policies and regulations, and the UAB Facilities Division policies and regulations. Each employee at the Facilities who is responsible for conducting business with outside vendors has the responsibility of making a "good faith effort" of ensuring that DBEs are afforded an equitable opportunity to compete for all procurement and contracting activities of the UAB Facilities Division.
