Describe your ASBA experience.

My ASBA experience over the last year has been exceptionally incredible. I have been a part of this program for two semesters and can honestly say that I have enjoyed it. The program has provided me the help that I needed to grow as a student during my time at UAB. The ASBA program gave me determination and confidence to be an outspoken, reliable, and driven professional. I will continue to be a part of ASBA for as long as I can.

What are your career goals/aspirations?

One of my career goals is to become a part of a team/business who focuses on the Hispanic/Latino demographic. As a marketer, my greatest priority would be to better understand this demographic as a whole so that I can fulfill their future wants and needs. My ultimate goal would be to transition into a workforce such as construction and better aid the underprivileged, unrecognized group of people in it.

Did your ASBA experience teach you valuable professional and personal skills?

The ASBA program has greatly impacted my career goals because they have provided me the tools necessary to move further into my career. I was granted the opportunity to work with two small businesses in Birmingham—H.E.L.P. Inc. and Latino News—whose focus is to serve and empower the Hispanic/Latino population. I am grateful for all the opportunities that ASBA has granted me.
