Levels of Learning

Quantitative literacy as a unifying concept requires students to apply skills acquired through rote learning, to integrate those skills in meaningful ways, and to engage in critical thinking, all with the goal of solving problems in context.

The following table contains specific verbs that describe what students should be able to do at each of these three levels of learning. These verbs re-appear in the learning outcomes provided in subsequent pages of the QL website.  The verbs focus each desired learning outcome on a particular action that is observable and measurable.
