The 9th annual conference will be held May 17-18 on the UAH campus. The Division of eLearning and Professional Studies and the Center for Teaching and Learning invite you to save Tuesday-Wednesday, May 17-18, 2016, for the 9th Annual Scholars Institute, to be held at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). This year's theme is “Exploiting Technology for Best Practices in Teaching and Learning.”

The Scholars Institute fosters a shared community of knowledge among members of the three UA System campuses. It brings us together to discuss and to discover best practices and new ideas for the roles of technology in our teaching, learning, and research processes. As in years past, the conference topics for 2016 relate to the experiences of all faculty, staff, and students, from the integration of technology into our academic environments to the growing role of technology in the teaching, learning, and research triad.

The Institute is seen as an important professional development initiative for faculty in their use of technology in teaching and learning, particularly in support of the adaptation and use of new approaches to teaching with technology. Further, the Institute focuses heavily on the sharing of best practices across our system-wide community. Presentations emphasize quality, evidence of impact, tools, and pedagogical and practical approaches, with time for colleagues within- and between campuses to engage in collaboration and knowledge sharing. The Institute also provides hands-on opportunities for practice and implementation of classroom and online tools.

Registration and the Call for Proposals are both open, and faculty are encouraged to register early to reserve a seat. See our SI2016 website below to register, and to submit your proposal to the CFP.
