Explore the exhibitions Etched in Collective History and Dawoud Bey: The Birmingham Project as well as the entire Museum!
BMA Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art Ron Platt will use the Museum's recent painting acquisition School of Beauty, School of Culture by Kery James Marshall as a catalyst for a penel discussion on the role of art in the Civil Rights Movement. Panelist include Cleophus Thomas, Jr., attorney; Darius Hill, visual arts chair, Alabama School of Fine Arts; and Ahmad Ward, head of education, Birmingham Civil Rights Institute.

UAB buses to the Birmingham Museum of Art will depart from Blazer Hall Courtyard Circle at 4:30 pm.
Buses will return to UAB at 7:00 pm and at 8:00 pm.
