Certificate & Exchange Programs
Translational & Molecular Sciences Certificate
This certificate program formalizes graduate training and education in translational sciences at UAB. Students completing the certificate will be trained in one or more key facets that comprise the process and goals of translational research; namely, understanding mechanisms of disease, how these insights are then used to develop, test and apply therapies for the treatment of disease, and how translational research is a bridge between basic and applied research. This program evolved from the UAB HHMI Med to Grad Fellows Program.
Technology Commercialization and Entrepreneurship Certificate
The Graduate Certificate in Technology Commercialization and Entrepreneurship is designed to expose students (MBA and non-MBA) and scientists to the business foundations of entrepreneurship and technology commercialization. The program is designed to blend knowledge and experiential learning to help move scientific discovery and inventions out of the lab and into the marketplace. Unless otherwise approved by the student's mentor, the student will be responsible for this certificate program's tuition costs.
