About the Program

The scope of this exchange is very flexible. It is primarily driven by students who express their interests in working in a particular lab or by investigators who have common research interests. The length of the program will be based on the purpose of the exchange and can range from a few weeks (e.g. to learn a new technique) to several months (e.g. for a rotation type project) or years (depending on the research and project).

UAB students going to University of Erlangen (FAU) will enroll in non-dissertation research credit hours here at UAB. Stipend, tuition, fees, student healthcare will continue to be paid by the student's UAB mentor.  Participation at FAU in orientation and training for the appropriate laboratory environment is required.
