Recruiting Information

Our recruiting interview days are usually Thursday through Saturday, beginning late January or early February of each year. However, we continue to review applications and interview prospective students through the end of March.

What our invited interviewing students can expect:

    • Arrive Thursday morning
    • Thursday interviews
    • Dinner with faculty Thursday evening
    • Interviews on Friday
    • Lunch with students and exit interview

Dress - Invited students typically dress in business or business/casual attire for interviews: Dress slacks, shirt and tie for men; business skirt, blouse/suit for women. Wear comfortable shoes. We are an urban campus, and you will be walking! Dress at other times will be casual.

Weather - Birmingham's weather in February and March is usually cold (30's), windy, and rainy. Please bring clothing and/or umbrella that will make you comfortable in this type of weather. Note: We have had more snow this winter than usual, so be prepared to stay warm.

Logistics - Our office will make the airline and hotel reservations for all interviewing students. Most of your meals will be provided.

Paying for the Visit - UAB will make and pay for your hotel reservation and plane ticket up front.

Contact Information - Students invited to interview will be in contact with our program manager, Patricia Matthews, to arrange flights and hotel, and provide assistance for your itinerary.
