Senior vice president's message
'Everyone has a role to play'
One of the most rewarding things about being in a major fund-raising campaign is how it motivates people to rally and work together toward shared goals. We could not contemplate taking on a $1 billion goal without the strong support of our volunteers and donors in conjunction with our deans, faculty and staff.
We are fortunate to have three dynamic leaders working with us and with our volunteer boards across campus and the country. Johnny Johns, Theresa Bruno and Mike Warren — three of Alabama’s most effective and well-known leaders — are our co-chairs.
Many other outstanding leaders serve on our Campaign for UAB President’s Executive Committee, Leadership Cabinet, Leadership UAB and School Advisory Boards. We also have regional volunteer leaders in various areas around the state and nation. Everyone has a role to play, and your participation is important!
Please join us. Consider how your life or the lives of your family and friends have been changed by UAB, whether as a grateful patient, a student, a patron of the arts or a business person who appreciates the university’s incredible economic impact on our state. Whatever your passion, someone here at UAB shares it: working on a cure, paving the way, changing the world to make it a better place to live for everyone.
Together, we can “give something and change everything.”

Senior Vice President for Development, Alumni and External Relations
