UAB is a Comprehensive Head Injury Center. The Neurological Intensive Care Unit (NICU) cares for brain injuries, strokes and other neurological disorders affecting the brain and nervous system. This 28 bed unit is laid out for efficient patient care. The patient rooms are spacious and well equipped. An adjacent staffed reception and waiting area are visitor friendly. There are three private counseling rooms for consultations.
