A concert featuring Sam Hunt along with Maren Morris and Ryan Follese on Sept. 1. The concert is being held to celebrate the return of UAB Football – which plays its first game Sept. 2 – and The Campaign for UAB topping $800 million. This is UAB's way of saying thanks to the community for its support.
The concert takes place at Uptown in Birmingham. Uptown is a Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC) development located on the campus of the BJCC. Uptown is located just north of I-20/59. For more information, parking or directions, visit www.uptownbham.com.
Yes. However, the number of tickets is limited and you must visit our ticket website to download your free tickets. A link to the ticket website will be available on this site's home page on August 4 at 10 am CST. There is a limit of 2 tickets per request, you can only request tickets once and you must have your tickets to gain admission to the concert. Be sure to sign up at www.uab.edu/houseparty for updates.

Gates will open 2 hours prior to the start of the concert. A UAB pep rally will begin about 30 minutes before the start of the concert and music concludes at approximately 11:00 pm. We want to make sure everyone has a great time at the concert and gets enough rest so they are able to help cheer the Blazer football team to victory the next day against Alabama A&M at Legion Field.
Definitely. We welcome guests of all ages. Please note that everyone attending the concert requires a ticket.
No, but we strongly encourage everyone to show their support for UAB, our football team and other athletic teams by wearing your favorite green or gold colored clothing items. The UAB Bookstore will be on-site selling UAB's official athletic gear from Under Armour and other popular UAB clothing and merchandise.
No. If you decide to leave the concert venue for whatever reason you will not be readmitted. Once tickets are scanned for entry they can't be used to re-enter the concert venue.
A blanket, personal items like sunscreen, a cell phone, back-up battery for your cell phone, binoculars, lip balm, and various other items placed in a clear bag. All attendees will be subject to search upon entry; one clear bag allowed per attendee. There will be a designated area if you would like to use a chair, but space is limited – you must bring your own regular-height, collapsible chair.

Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12"x 6"x 12"; one-gallon clear plastic freezer bags (Ziploc or similar) and small clutch bags, with or without a handle or strap, that do not exceed 4.5"x 6.5". Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection by security officials at the gate. If you attended a college football game in 2016, then you are likely to be familiar with the clear bag requirement.
Weapons, food and drink, alcohol, illegal substances of any kind, purses/bags that don't meet our clear bag requirement, umbrellas, coolers, lasers, glow sticks, stickers, silly string, confetti, glitter, spray-paint, pets (service dogs will be permitted), glass containers and metal aerosol cans, including sun screen in aerosol cans, scooters or personal motorized vehicles, professional recording equipment, detachable lens cameras, audio recording equipment, video recording equipment, GoPro-style cameras, selfie sticks, fireworks or other explosives, large chains or spiked jewelry, tents or canopies, or skateboards. No unauthorized vendors will be permitted in the venue or on the BJCC grounds; no solicitations, handbills, sampling, giveaways, etc.
Point-and-shoot digital cameras are allowed, but they must be placed in your clear bag – see above. Cameras with detachable lenses are prohibited.

We will have a Medical Tent within the venue. If you can't make it to the medical tent, please alert one of our security team members and they will quickly assist you. Birmingham Fire & Rescue will have two paramedics and a transport vehicle on-site too.

We will have portable restrooms located inside the concert venue.
Wheelchairs, including motorized wheelchairs, are permitted for those with limited mobility. We will have a designated area for those using these devices. We will also offer a chair area if you are unable to stand for the entire concert and would like to sit down for some or all of the performances. Remember you must bring your own regular-height, collapsible chair. We will not be providing chairs and space is limited.
Service animals that are trained to provide assistance to a concertgoer with a disability are allowed. Pets are not allowed.
If a patron has a special dietary restriction or need, those items will be allowed into the concert venue if accompanied by a doctor's note.
Any medically necessary medicine and materials must be in the name of the patron. Your ID will be matched with the label on the items brought to the festival. Please dispose of any medical waste and syringes at the Medical Tent. Do not dispose of them in the trash bins.
We will be providing free shuttle service from UAB's campus to the BJCC campus before, during and after the concert. Blazer Express will provide shuttle bus service for UAB’s House Party with Sam Hunt starting at 4:00 pm on the day of the concert. The campus pick-up and drop-off point is the South End of the Campus Green, at the crosswalk on 10th Avenue South. The shuttle service will drop concert goers off at the corner of 11th Avenue N and 22nd St N (NW corner of the concert venue). This is the same location that will be used for pick-up at the venue once the concert ends. The shuttle will continue to run for one hour after the concert ends. There are no other stops or pick-ups along the shuttle route. The shuttle route will not be visible when using Blazer Express’ Transloc mobile app.
