Exposures to Blood or Body Fluids

collage virusHealthcare workers are at risk for accidental needlesticks, splashes or other exposures to blood or body fluids. We all should do everything possible to protect ourselves (and others) from these occurrences by using safety devices, protective equipment, standard precautions and other elements of safe practice.

If an exposure occurs, the employee should report it as soon as possible to Employee Health. When the office is open, you can report directly to us. After hours, on weekends and holidays report by calling the Call Center at 934-3411 and asking them to page the person on call for the Needlestick Team.
Please read the Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control Plan for more information.
