Diane Reid, M.A., is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Nationally Certified Counselor (NBCC), Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) and an Approved LPC Supervisor by the Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling.  She has completed Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) parts I and II. She is also a Smoking Cessation Counselor and Group Facilitator accredited by The American Lung Association.   Professional organization memberships include the American Art Therapy Association, The American Counseling Association, the Alabama Counseling Association, and the Employee Assistance Professionals Association. Also, she served on UAB’s Alliance Committee, UAB Safe Zone, and chaired a committee for Safe House of Shelby County. 

Diane has a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Alabama in Psychology and she received a Master of Arts in Agency Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she works with a diverse population at the UAB Employee Assistance and Counseling Center. She has experience with expressive therapies such as yoga dance, journey dance and art as therapy, and as a Level 1 certified Yoga Fit instructor, Diane has been teaching classes for employees since 2009. In addition to traditional yoga she provides yoga-off-the-mat programs for mindfulness and stress management. Other educational presentations include Understanding Grief and Managing the Tough Adolescent.  She provides individual therapy for stress management, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, LGBT issues, parenting, caregiver burnout, codependency and work-life balance.
