Associate Professor and Associate Dean for Health Information and Business Systems in the School of Dentistry.
Current focus areas include management of all aspects of the dental school’s information technology and business office/patient finance operations, electronic patient records, learning management systems and applications, and leadership in the school's strategic planning and faculty/staff development initiatives.
Has a combined dentistry and informatics background, with a DMD degree, Master’s degree in biomedical informatics, and over 15 years bridging informatics and information technology with dental practice, education, and research.
Has certifications in Information Technology Project Management, Online Education, and Special Patient Care.
Serves as grant reviewer and manuscript reviewer for a number of peer-reviewed journals.
Has held multiple leadership roles at the national level, including Chair of the Dental Informatics Working Group of the American Medical Informatics Association and Chair of the Dental Informatics Section of the American Dental Education Association.
Recipient of several awards, including the International Women of Color “Most Promising Healthcare Professional Award” and the National Dental Association Faculty Award for Research.
Works extensively at the school and University level to implement and maintain processes and systems in the areas of information technology, diversity, informatics, and patient-centered care.
