Existing human tolerance data are not based on subjects who are  representative of the entire population.  In an effort to systematically generate representative data , this  work group determined that it should focus its efforts on defining and elucidating human tolerance criteria in response to traumatic injury.

Thus, the overarching goal of this work group is to consider,  define, and elucidate human tolerance criteria in response to trauma,  with particular emphasis on effects of aging and population demographics.  Planned deliverables promise to have direct applicability in the areas of improved vehicle design, injury prevention and injury amelioration.  Model types include computational, theoretical, empirical, and surrogates.
