The IT Advisory Group is charged with the task of advising the Vice President on items related to information technology. This group is responsible for reviewing UAB's information technology plans and assisting in setting priorities for these initiatives. Of particular concern to the committee is IT Security as it relates to research data, patient data, and other confidential information. Immediate priorities for the committee include the following:

discussion and recommendation for enhancing IT Security from the desktop to the Internet
evaluation of methods of reducing unsolicited emails on campus
review of IT initiatives such as UABWiFi
evaluation and feedback on IT policies
