Configuring Eudora 5.2 for Windows using POP3 or IMAP - Start Eudora
- Pull down the Tools menu and select Options (screenshot)
- In the Getting Started window, enter the following: (screenshot)
- Real Name: "Your Name"
- Return Address: blazerid@uab.edu
- Mail Server (Incoming): mail.ad.uab.edu
- Login Name: "Your BlazerID"
- SMTP Server(Outgoing): vera.dpo.uab.edu
- Click on Checking Mail and select Required, Alternate Port in the Secure Socket when Receiving pull-down menu (screenshot)
- Next, scroll down to the Incoming Mail window and under Server Configuration, select POP or IMAP (screenshot) - see Clients & Protocols for further explanation
- Click OK to begin using Eudora
* Read Eudora documentation to understand and configure other settings.
If you receive this error message: SSL Negotiation Failed: Certificate Error: Cert chain not trusted. Follow the directions below for adding a Cert to your certificate database.
- Close warning box in center of screen
- Go back to Tools>Options>Checking Mail
- Select Last SSL Info under Secure Sockets when Receiving
- Select Certificate Information Manager at the bottom of box
- Select Add to trusted button
- Certificate reads: 'US, Equifax, Equifax Secure Certificate Authority' (see screenshot, below)
