Applications Development Group Overview

The UAB ITIS Applications Development Group (UAB ADG) was formed in 2002 to provide professional-grade custom software solutions to the UAB community, at a fraction of the cost of hiring outside consultants. Whether your need is to create a small clinical database or a robust, enterprise-level web service, the UAB ADG is here to help.

Knowledge and Experience

Our staff is very experienced in providing quality solutions to the UAB Community at every scale and for every kind of need. We've designed and developed enterprise products such as the UAB Budget Model, created to help UAB departments plan their budgeting needs for the next fiscal year, and the UAB ePayment Sytem, a web-based service that supports credit card transactions for UAB subscribers. We're also available for smaller-scale projects, such as a medical research assistance program written for a physicial in the Spain Rehabilitation facility, or the Student Knowledge Assessment survey rogram developed for the Dean's Office of one of the academic schools.

We also have a broad programming knowledge-base, with the ability to create and support application needs in Visual Basic, java, C, Delphi, XML, T-SQL, HTML, JavaScript and VBScript, and even the "cutting edge" technologies for the Microsoft® .NET framework. Because of our diversity in knowledge and experience, we can deliver solutions that work for you.

Customer Care

Giving our customers what they wand and need is just as important to us as solid code. As part of that goal, we make every effort to understand your needs and work with you to create the solution tailored to your business. We provide you with a design blueprint and a comprehensive development schedule so that you know what you'll get and when yoyu'll get it. We also provide tools for tracking business requirements and change requests online, allowing you to easily review the progress on your project. Of course, no project is complete until you're satisfied!

Consulting and Training

In addition to our programming services, the UAB Applications Development Group also provides consulting services. Whether it be to help you or your staff solve complex computing problems, or deal with an application or database server problem, we can help.

We also provide training services, with classes in Microsoft® Visual Basic™, Advanced Microsoft® Access™ Development, Microsoft® Active Server Pages™, and transact-SQL for Microsoft® SQL-Server™.
