Scholarships

As an IT Intern, you will receive a scholarship of up to $4,500* per year to be applied towards tuition, fees, and other educational expenses. The actual amount of scholarship that you will receive is dependent upon several factors. Please refer to the chart below for details of scholarship eligibility.

To be eligible for the tuition scholarship, you must be appointed to your internship assignment no later than the appointment deadline listed above.

If you are assigned an internship position AFTER the deadline listed for a particular semester, you will not be eligible for the scholarship until the following semester.

To be eligible to receive the tuition scholarship, you must have an enrollment status of no less than half-time. If you fail to maintain at least a half-time status as a student, you will forfeit your scholarship for that semester.

It is your responsibility to notify the Program Coordinator if your enrollment status changes during the semester and to reimburse the program for any overpayment of the scholarship.

The IT Internship Program is intended to enhance, not replace, your academic experience at UAB. As such, we strongly encourage you to remain enrolled full-time throughout you tenure as an IT Intern.

Your scholarship will be disbursed through the Student Financial Aid Office. In order to avoid receiving a late fee on your account, please provide the Program Coordinator a copy of your current bill AT LEAST 2 weeks prior to the first payment due date for that semester.
