Information:
Dr. Perumean-Chaney is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice. Prior to joining the department, Dr. Chaney was a Research Assistant Professor in the UAB Department of Biostatistics and has been head biostatistician for the Nevada School of Medicine's Nutrition Education & Research Program (1998-2002)and Assistant Director and Biostatistician for the University of Nevada Reno's Center for Research Design and Statistical Methods (2002-2004).
Her research interests include violence and its contexts, quantitative methods, and misogyny in popular music. Her work has appeared in such journals as Journal of School Health, Journal of Police and Criminal Psychology, Obesity Reviews, Topics in Clinical Nutrition, Journal of American Dietetic Association, and Archives of Internal Medicine.
